How to plan short-video posting
October 25, 2026
Short videos win on consistency. A schedule, a backlog of videos and tracking results matter more than one lucky video a week.
How much to post
There is no universal number. A working guideline for one channel: one to three videos a day, steadily, with no week-long gaps. If you have few videos, post less but every day rather than in one batch a week.
With many channels the load multiplies: 20 channels at 2 videos a day is 40 posts daily. Nobody keeps that up by hand. This is where auto-posting comes in.
A backlog of videos
- Keep a week's worth ready. Then a sick day or a rush job doesn't break the schedule.
- Cut long content. One stream, webinar or podcast gives you 10–30 short clips. See clips from long videos.
- Make series. One topic in several parts gives viewers a reason to finish and follow.
Versions of one video
The same source video can go out differently on different channels: another hook in the first seconds, another shot order, other subtitles and sound. That way you test delivery and avoid posting the same file on every channel.
When to post
Look at your audience. Every platform's analytics shows when your followers are online. For new channels, spread posts across the day and after a couple of weeks keep the hours when videos perform best.
Track the results
A plan without numbers doesn't improve. Once a week, check which videos and channels brought clicks and sign-ups, and make more like them. How to count is covered in how to track short-video traffic.
A simple weekly plan
- Monday: pick source videos and cut clips.
- Tuesday: make versions and captions, load them into the schedule.
- Every day: posts go out automatically, you reply to comments.
- Friday: check the report, mark the best videos, decide what to repeat.
