UTM link builder with click_id
Paste a link to a landing page, offer or bot and fill in the tags. The builder adds UTM parameters and a {click_id} macro, keeps existing parameters and checks the link.
Example: an offer link with a partner tag plus tags for one TikTok channel. Replace the fields with yours and the link rebuilds right away.
What UTM tags are
UTM tags are parameters at the end of a link. Your site and analytics read them and record where each visitor came from.
- utm_source: the platform, for example tiktok, youtube, instagram.
- utm_medium: the traffic type, for example video, cpc, organic.
- utm_campaign: the campaign or channel network.
- utm_content: a specific channel or creative. This is how you see which channel brings people in.
- utm_term: a keyword or any extra label.
Write tags in lowercase Latin letters, without spaces, and always the same way. Analytics treats tiktok and TikTok as two different sources.
Why click_id and postbacks matter
A UTM tag tells you where a visitor came from. A click_id tells you which exact click it was. Your tracker puts the click ID in place of the {click_id} macro. When the visitor signs up or pays, your site or affiliate network sends a postback: a request with that ID and the payout. That ties the sale to a channel and campaign, and CPA, EPC and ROI are calculated from there.
The curly braces in the macro stay as they are. Trackers look for the macro in exactly this form and will not recognise an encoded %7Bclick_id%7D.
For a Telegram bot, tags work through the start parameter: t.me/your_bot?start=tiktok_set-1. The bot receives the value on first launch and can store it with the user.
How Traffic Howl handles this
With Traffic Howl you do not build links by hand. You set where the traffic should go in your order and can add the {click_id} macro there. The system creates a separate link for every channel in the network, counts clicks with bots filtered out and puts the click ID into your link. Postbacks come back to your dashboard. FAQ
Why does {click_id} keep its braces?
It's a macro. Your tracker or affiliate network finds it in the link and replaces it with the click ID. If the braces are encoded, the macro won't work.
Do UTM tags work in a Telegram bot link?
No, Telegram doesn't pass them on. For a bot, use the start parameter: tick "Telegram bot" and the tag goes into ?start=.
What happens to parameters already in the link?
They are kept. The builder replaces only the ones you set, for example utm_source if it was already in the link.
