How to grow a Telegram channel with short videos

October 25, 2026

Short videos give you free reach, yet on their own they don't bring Telegram subscribers. You need three things: videos that leave people wanting more, a clear link, and tracking of which channel worked.

Videos that bring people to Telegram

A viewer leaves the feed only if you promise something the video doesn't have. So formats with a continuation work best:

The call to action names a specific benefit: "full list in Telegram, link in profile". "Subscribe to my channel" works noticeably worse.

Where to put the link

How to see which channel brings subscribers

In Telegram you can create a separate invite link for each video channel. Channel settings show how many people joined through each one. For a bot, use the start parameter: t.me/your_bot?start=tiktok3. The bot stores the tag on first launch. The UTM link builder can assemble such a link for you.

With many channels, short tracked links are easier: you see both clicks and subscriptions. In the Traffic Howl dashboard every channel has its own link, and your bot or site reports sign-ups back with a postback.

What to avoid

How to scale

Once you know which delivery brings subscribers, roll it out on a channel network: dozens of versions of one video every day. That's what auto-posting does. You can start with a one-week trial on 5 channels.
